Teatro alla Scala

The Scala Theatre, more commonly known as La Scala, is the most important opera theatre of the world and is internationally recognized as the temple of opera. Founded under the reign of Maria Teresa Empress of Austria, the theatre was realized by Giuseppe Piermarini and inaugurated on 1778. Nowadays the theatre hosts important lyric operas, ballets and classic music concerts.

Arcimboldi Theatre

Arcimboldi Theatre has been built in the period 1997-2002 on the initiative of the Municipality of Milan and Pirelli by the famous Milanese architect Vittorio Gregotti. Today is one of the largest stages in Lombardy for contemporary dance, jazz, ethnic, electronic and symphonic music. In these last years it has hosted also major Italian and international musical productions and theater circus shows.

Piccolo Teatro di Milano – Piccolo Teatro Strehler

Founded in 1947 by Giorgio Strehler, Paolo Grassi and Nina Vinchi, Piccolo Teatro of Milan is the first Theatre in Italy in time of order, and the best known in Italy and abroad. Since 1991, it is also Theatre of Europe. In more than sixty years of activity it has produced more than 300 shows, mostly directed by Giorgio Strehler, and since 1998 it has increased its international dimension and interdisciplinary offer, proposing itself as one of the most important cultural center. Various performances of drama and dance, opera, exhibitions and film festivals, round tables and cultural research programs take place on its stage.
